meeting with Nostalgia
i had thought about meetings i had as a child when doing my meeting between adult and child and mostly they were with friends and involved toys, this made me think of those classic toys with nostalgia, so i decided to do a meeting with childhood nostalgia. for people to come into the space a think of all those memories and maybe share it with friends.
i looked at the main toys that are universally used, like barbie, lego, brats and race cars
i decided on lego just because they are the most unisex, even though there are arguably more lego men then lego women. i would play with lego with with both my guy friends and girl friends. they are also very interactive and colourful.
i decided to use lego men as i thought they have a happy disposition and always make me smile, plus theres hundreds of different types. i thought by making them giant (aprox. half the size of the human) the would be easier to see and look at the details. by having 4 rows of 4 you would be able to see a sufficient amount of different types of lego men, i had to use the same for purely because i couldn't find others. all walls and floor are white so to make all the focal point to the lego men and for the people not to get too distracted by lots of colours.
when i was doing my sketch up i was thinking about the different ways or places i could put the different lego men and also the trouble of whether people would be able to walk around the men. i concluded that it would look better and be more efficient to put the hanging from the room with clear plastic string from there under arms. if i positioned them seemingly random with different lengths an angles( not in lines) then it would give a chance for people to see different angles and sides of the lego men.

meeting between two cas
see my cats interacting each others and us made me think of what this would be like as a meeting place. how one minute they would be loving and cleaning each other and the next they would be attacking each other just because one of them did something wrong, then they can be back to loving again.
i decided on the space the was cut into two halves by a small wall
one half would have soft flat fur on all the walls and 3 giant leather paws that you can sink into like bean bags or couches.
the other side would have hard spiked up fur on all the walls and floor, and four giant (3/4 human sized) dark metal claws coming out from the ground, ready to attack at any second. so the different sides of the room each show the sides of a cat and how in an instant it can change.
kids room final
i looked at more images and found that most if not all of the room had stuff toys in them but a lot of them together can look a bit messy, so i thought go using s velcro like wall where you could stick all your teddy bears and be able to pull them off and put them back at any moment.
i like the poofs in this image and thought that they are a good comfortable way for anyone to sit and are close to the ground, you can also lean on them.
i have put a whiteboard on the back wall because when seeing in one of my other images i thought it was a genius idea for a child and adult to bond by drawing but also be able to rub it off and start again each day. they top half of the wall however is like calendar with each day of the week for a month, so parents can write what they have todo that day with the child and for themselves. Adults seem to be very conscious of time rather than children, they are also the ones the organise everything. there would be 3 to 4 hanging boxes from four wooden pillars across the roof. they would hold books and maybe things that a young child isn't safe around without supervision, felt tips so they don't dra on the walls. the left hand wall is white with a giant painting or image of a office space, a very adult surrounding where children would not be welcomed or comfortable, a juxtaposition of childs motifs on the right wall and adult on the other. the roof designed to be yellow wood, to promote happiness.

3rd space
for my 3rd space i wanted to look at a meeting space between a parent and a child between 3-10 yrs of age. i wanted to look at an activity room where the parent and child could bond by doing things, whether that is drawing or making something. i did a mind map on what i thought an activity room would need, like storage, blackboards, engaging colours e.t.c.
