3rd space

for my 3rd space i wanted to look at a meeting space between a parent and a child between 3-10 yrs of age. i wanted to look at an activity room where the parent and child could bond by doing things, whether that is drawing or making something. i did a mind map on what i thought an activity room would need, like storage, blackboards, engaging colours e.t.c.

final design

for this space i wanted to make the table to have a togetherness feel so i made it a half circle so that there wouldn't be any sharp edges or or harsh line just one harmonious circle, but i knew that if they needed to look in one direction you didn't want to have to watch over others or strain you neck. all the wall will be white so there would be no distractions and would mean that a business could project images or put posters up anywhere.

i in a way i broadened my scope by making my space 'a meeting between two companies' i did a mind map on what was needed for this kind of meeting and free some different ideas.

2nd space

i did some quick first designs of different spaces, i didn't do a reception are as i though there wasn't really any point.

i've decided to go with a meeting between two businesses, so ordinarily that would be in a corporate office like space but maybe i could make a space that is suitable for that meeting but not so obvious i guess. 

Corporate Office: research

first i started a mind map about the different aspects of a corporate office to figure out what i wanted to focus on, i then researched some images of those different aspects.

These are my final drawings for the space i designed for two people to talk.

its very simplified design so that there isn't much of a distraction and you can focus on what the other person is talking about or at least the view.

saturday 26th of July

over the weekend i went back to the boat sheds, because it was such a good day i could appreciate the views the way the boat sheds look in the summertime, when they are really indented to be used.

I was surprised to see how much room there was on the roofs and saw a couple having a picnic on it, i thought it would be a great idea to sit up there as one of my tutors mentioned that the boat shed maybe too big for just two people to talk. it also has the neutral sounds and a great view so i thought it wouldn't be too awkward. i was thinking that i could have built in shelves or cupboard to put pillows and blankets so it would be more comfortable and warmer at night. i also thought about if it rains building some sort of railing that you could put water proof fabric on, it would completely protect you in winter but with enough blankets i figured it would be fine.
